To address this, Eskom, the country’s leading energy utility, has partnered with the Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme. This initiative provides unemployed young people with workplace experience, practical training, and opportunities for future employment.
About the YES Programme
Launched in 2018, the YES Programme is a national collaboration between government, business, labour, and civil society. Its mission is to create quality work opportunities for unemployed youth aged 18–34.

Minimum Requirements

Must be a South African citizen.
-
Aged between 18 and 34.
-
Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.

Post-matric certificate/programme (advantage).
Selection Criteria

Not permanently employed with one employer for more than 12 months.

Not studying full-time during the programme year.

Not previously registered/participated in the YES initiative.

Must successfully complete Eskom’s recruitment and placement process.
