Who Can Apply?
Applicants must meet the following criteria:

Be a South African citizen residing in Gauteng Province.

Hold one of the following school leaving certificates:

Senior Certificate
-
National Senior Certificate
-
Currently in Grade 12
-
National Vocational Certificate (Primary Health)

Minimum Academic Requirements
For Senior Certificate Holders:

English HG (D) or SG (C)

Biology HG (D) or SG (C)

Mathematics HG (D) or SG (C)

M score: 17
For National Senior Certificate Holders:

English Level 4

Life Sciences Level 4
-
Mathematics Level 4 OR Maths Literacy Level 5

APS: 27 or higher (Life Orientation counts half the score)
For National Vocational Certificate Holders:

50% in Fundamental Subjects (English FAL, Maths/Maths Literacy, Life Orientation)

60% in Vocational Subjects (SA Health Care System, Public Health, Human Body and Mind, Community Oriented Primary Care)
For Current Grade 12 Learners:

Must meet the NSC requirements in their Grade 11 final results.

Programme Commitments
Successful applicants will be required to:

Sign an agreement with the Gauteng Department of Health.

Attend lectures at the assigned GCON campus.

Participate in Work Integrated Learning (WIL), which involves working shifts, weekends, nights, and public holidays in Gauteng hospitals and clinics.
