Minimum Requirements
- Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
- Valid driver’s licence (minimum Code B).
- Basic Traffic Officers Diploma.
- At least one year practical experience in law enforcement.
- Must have no criminal record.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of Road Traffic and Public Transport legislation.
- Familiarity with vehicle inspections and impoundment procedures.
- Understanding of overload control, escort duties, and law enforcement documentation.
- Knowledge of Firearm and Ammunition Act 60/2000.
- Strong customer service, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to interpret legislation and manage resources effectively.
- Observation and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in law enforcement environments.
Key Duties
- Enforce Road Traffic, Public Passenger, and Transport Legislation.
- Examine drivers’ licences and vehicles for compliance.
- Conduct monitoring at Driver Licence Testing Centres (DLTC) and Vehicle Testing Stations (VTS).
- Provide visible traffic policing and crime prevention activities.
- Perform required administrative tasks and maintain accurate records.
