The Diploma in Nursing (General) equips learners with the knowledge, clinical skills, and professional competence required to provide quality nursing care in hospitals, clinics, and community health settings across South Africa.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must meet the following academic criteria to qualify for admission:
- Senior Certificate with endorsement (Matric exemption) or a National Senior Certificate with a Bachelor’s Degree Pass.
- A minimum of 24 points on the rating scale (excluding Life Orientation).

Training Details
The three-year Diploma in Nursing Programme is offered by the Limpopo Province College of Nursing across its four campuses:
- Giyani Campus
- Sovenga Campus
- Thohoyandou Campus
- Sekhukhune Campus
The training is conducted in accordance with Regulation R.171 of the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
Upon successful completion, graduates will receive a Diploma endorsed by a Higher Education Institution serving as the quality assurer. This qualification enables registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse (General).
